Version 1.2.7: Everything Is Negotiable
Deutsch Español Français Português 中文 Italiano 日本語 한국어 Русский Türkçe Polski Nederlands Bahasa Indonesia
In 1.2.7 nothing on the board has a fixed price any more. Deals, offers and loan quotes can all be haggled, and every haggle is a coin flip. The coin does not care how nice you were to the seller.
Haggling, version one
On any card with someone across the table, you now get a Negotiate button. Tap it and the coin decides. Heads, the terms move in your favour. Tails, they dig in and the terms move against you. Then you decide whether to buy, sell, borrow or walk away with whatever the coin left you.
Haggling works on deals, on offers you receive and on loan quotes, where the thing being negotiated is the interest rate. Stocks, startups and life events have nobody to argue with, so they stay as they are. And if you pass on a card, nothing changes and nothing is lost, which makes the Negotiate button the cheapest way in the game to find out how lucky you feel.
Bidding wars: you choose the victim
Every so often a buyer turns up offering a handsome premium for one of your properties. From 1.2.7 you choose which property goes, which matters more than it sounds. Selling the flat that barely breaks even is a very different decision from selling the one that pays the bills for everything else. The offer can be negotiated too, which is how a good day becomes a great one and a bad day a worse one.
Marriage, with a safety net
Love is in the air, and so are the bills. The Wedding card lets you go big or elope, and either way the expenses follow you home. Then comes the card nobody wants to draw and everybody should consider: the Prenup. Your partner's lawyer slides it across the table, and the lawyer does not work for free. Sign it and, if it ever comes to divorce, you keep the estate and pay alimony instead of splitting your assets. Refuse it and, as the button says, love conquers all.
"Romantic? No. Cheaper than a divorce? Yes."
That line is the card's own. And if a divorce does happen, you now choose which assets go to your ex instead of leaving it to the game.
Smaller changes worth knowing
- Sound on and off in the menu, for people who play on the train.
- Bot games pause while you are away and never kick you. A multiplayer table moves on if you go quiet. A game against bots waits for as long as it takes you to answer the door.
Fixes
The dice no longer get stuck on "Rolling". The dream picker is no longer cut off on smaller screens. And the property card layout, which had wandered off somewhere on its own, is back where it belongs.
The story of haggling continues in 1.2.8, where the other side learns to walk away.
